Summary:
The Republic of Venice sends a diplomatic embassy with gifts of fine porcelain to query Turkish military preparations in Bosnia and Bulgaria.

From the London Evening Post, Oct. 22

Since our last arrived a Mail from Holland,

Venice, Oct. 16

The Turkish Preparations in Bosnia and Bulgaria are too notorious not to be observed, and give Umbrage; but the Court is resolved to be moderate, and content itself to enquire peaceably of the Ottoman Porte the Reason for such Preparations; and how it comes to pass, that after having proposed to renew the Treaty of Passarowitz not three Years since, they can resolve, without any visible Occasion, to disturb his Imperial Majesty. Our Minister is to accompany his Remonstrances with a costly Present of Porcelaine for the Grand Signor; some of the finest that could be met with in several Parts of Europe, of Japan, China, and Dresden Ware, are already brought hither for that Purpose.
